Maldives is visa free for Indians. Indian citizens no longer require a visa on arrival for visiting Maldives.
Documents Required for Maldives Visa Free Entry for Indians
Even though Indians do not require a visa to enter into Maldives, you still need to carry these documents:
- Original passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the departure date
- Proof of accommodation (hotel booking)
- Proof of funds like bank statement, valid credit card, or cash reserves
- Return or onward ticket from Maldives
Tips for Visiting Maldives
- The Maldives airport is quite small. There is only 1 passage to follow. Counters of each resort are placed. Just go to them, and they will guide you with further speedboat or seaplane transfers.
- Domestic flights and speedboats are available at Male airport for the onward journey to the other islands.
- Water Airport for seaplanes is on the other side of the Male Airport. Shuttle buses are available to take you to the water airport.
- Regular Airport Ferry is available between Male City and Male Airport

Every 30 minutes: 02:30 AM to 04:00 AM
Every 15 minutes: 04:00 AM to 06:00 AM
Male Airport to Male City

Every 15 minutes: 04:00 AM to 06:00 AM
On Fridays ferries operate every 10 minutes: 06:00 AM to 00:00 AM
