Often called the 'green lungs of the city', Can Gio Mangrove Forest is a wetland biosphere about 40 kms from Ho Chi Minh City. Cai Be Floating Market gives you a unique insight into life on the Mekong Delta. Though the size has considerably reduced over the years, the Cai Be Floating Market continues to be one of the best tourist attractions in Vinh Long. This floating market is the best at 6:00 AM and a boat ride through this area will let you observe the way the vegetable and fruit sellers sell their wares from boats. A beautiful Catholic church is located on the river bank and tourist boats often take detours to visit the canals and orchards.
One of the most iconic attractions of the city, Cu Chi Tunnels were a part of the extensive underground network in Vietnam that was used by the Vietnamese Congress as a hideaway during the war. Visitors can now go through some of the safer parts of the tunnel, which have been widened and lighted up for ease.
Ba Den Mountain, also famously known as Black Virgin Mountain, is the highest mountain in the Tay Ninh province of Vietnam, with a height of 989 m. It takes about 3 hours to drive from Saigon to reach the foot of this mountain. One can see the roads on the way to the mountain littered by many scooters, cars, and trucks. From there, the visitors can reach the summit in roughly another 3 hours, rest and enjoy a picnic with their loved ones with the breathtaking view. Descending the steep route for about 2 hours will further take the visitors to the Ba Den temple. A Cable car can be used thereon to reach the foot of the mountain, and one can then carry on with their drive to Saigon. Scheduling the day trip to this mountain and following it according to time is really essential. Leaving early in the morning will ensure that one gets back to their residence well ahead at night.
