1. Miami Beach Golf Club

Opened in 1923 and known earlier as Bayshore Golf Course, the Miami Beach Golf Club was developed by Carl Fischer to encourage wealthy residents of New York, Detroit and Indianapolis in golfing during the winter season. Sprawling over 6813 yards, the 18-hole par 72 course is designed by renowned architect Arthur Hills. Hole 1 is for warming up with hazards on the left and small rolling greens, hole 3 is difficult with waterbody and enormous elevated greens.

While hole 5 is the easiest and features some strategically placed bunkers, hole 6 is the shortest and hole 7 features several large bunkers. Hole 8 and 9 are tricky, hole 10 has bunkers placed at the landing areas, hole 15 is located uphill with abundant natural wetlands, bunkers and putting surface rising up to 15 feet around the guarded green slopes. The Signature Hole 17 with five tee areas over water, green slopes and horseshoe bunkers encourage all types of shots and hole 18 is perfect for aggressive play.

One can get merchandise from the pro shop and visit the restaurant for breakfast, dinner, lunch, cocktails, takeouts, Hors d’Oeuvres and full catering menu.

Located just minutes away from downtown Miami, this tropical paradise has vibrant foliage, strategically placed water bodies, mangroves and other natural elements thriving in an inviting and secluded atmosphere. Boasting of sufficient natural light for playing at dawn and evening, Crandon Golf is the only public course from Biscayne Bay.

One of the challenging par 72 courses in Florida, its highlight is the par-4 7th hole, often considered among the greatest holes of golf that seamlessly doglegs to the right sending the ball flying over the water surface. From the par-5 1st hole through the mangroves needing drives over water to the par-5 last hole flanked by water on both sides of the fairway, it has everything to become the signature course of Miami. Built in 1939 by Louis Wilson and Red Lawrence, the 18-hole championship par 71 course of Miami Shores Country Club is stretched up to 6373 yards with Mini Verde Bermuda Grass greens. Bisected by the Biscayne Canal Number C-8, the club went through major renovations to come up with restored bunkers, superior driving range, putting green, chipping and pitching area and golf lessons.

Metal spikes are not allowed and golfers can rent clubs and carts at this course with abundant vegetation and wildlife. 4 sets of tees within 5000 to 6700 yards are offered. Florida State Open and various other prestigious tournaments take place here. Golfers can access the lighted range from Wednesday to Sunday. One can visit the pro shop to get branded accessories, equipment, apparel and merchandise to make the golfing experience wonderful.

This municipal course extending up to 3001 yards encourages golfers to play fast rounds within the extensive layout with minimal sand traps without water and mildly challenging subtly undulating greens along the straight fairways. Granada Golf Course, like its sister-course of Biltmore Golf Course is equipped with fully-stocked pro shop, restaurant and locker room. It organizes membership opportunities and tournament outings and offers rental facilities of handcart and electric golf cart.

No matter whether someone aspires to be a PGA Tour golfer or simply wants to learn the skills, the online 8-week and 16-week programs including practice sessions, as well as the in-person instructions including individual adult sessions and semi-private adult sessions will be helpful. Donated on 4th January in 1928 by M. C. Gryzmish, the Normandy Shores Golf Club has been a legendary golfing destination for local people and experts alike. Famous golfers like Arnold Palmer, Peter Thompson and Sam Snead are some of the regular visitors at this golf club. Located off the 79th Street causeway, this legendary 18-hole par-71 course is designed by Arthur Hills to attract golfers from Miami Shores, Miami Beach and North Miami simultaneously.

The course stretches for about 6805 acres and comes with a pro shop equipped with top branded apparel and golfing gears. PGA professionals are there to assist at the practice range and the restaurant Grill and Bar, as well as the beverage cart drawn on the course offers drinks, snacks and meals to grab while playing. Open from 7 AM till 6:30 PM, the grill offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, Hors D’Oeuvres, a large cocktail selection and fully catered menu at the indoor setting and the outdoor patio.

Opened in 1959, the golf course is architected by Dick Wilson, developed by Russell, Wagor and Porter and was purchased in 1967 by Miami Dade County. The course runs parallel to the US-1 to the south of SW 152 Street and features labyrinthine canal system that makes the golfing experience quite challenging yet fun.

The lighted 22-posoition driving range has a large clubhouse, lighted putting green and the well-equipped golf shop where you can rent golfing gears. Crandon Golf Academy offers golfing lessons and organizes junior golf camps and clinics to suit all skill level. The Sports Grill onsite serves dinner, lunch and refreshments. The 18-hole championship course of Miami International Links Melreese Country Club managed by the DeLucca Enterprises and renovated by Charles Mahannah sprawls over 6500 square feet on an average. Laden with the USGA specified Tifdwarf grass, the course is an architectural marvel with five lakes, 97 sand bunkers, 9 waste bunkers and the strategically placed cypress wetland.

Even when many golf courses are not playable, this premier course lets you play along the northern-style rolling fairways having gentle elevation changes. Hired by the Coral Gables visionary George Merrick, the golf course architect William Langford started working on three 18-hole courses, among which Riviera Golf Course was opened as the South Course for Miami-Biltmore Country Club in 1925. After years of being left in abandoned state, in late 1945, the 18-hole course designed by William Merriam and Charles Mahannah came into being, only to be closed for renovations from time to time.

Finally opened in 2016, designed by Donald Ross and managed by the Master Link Club & Hospitality Services, this golf-only facility with 18 regulation holes has 15 tees driving range. With slope rating of 123, the par 71 course laden with Bermuda Grass is stretched up to 6511 yards. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at the onsite restaurant throughout the year and it can be reserved for private events. Visitors can also check out the gym and pools. It has valet facility and free parking.

12. Biltmore Golf Course Miami

Nestled in the Biltmore Hotel Coral Gables Miami, the 18-hole par 71 Biltmore Golf Course is sprawled over 7112 yards. Designed by Donald Ross resembling the Giralda Tower from Seville, this traditional course was opened in 1925 with a number of canals that were once used for carrying guests on gondolas. The verdant fairways by the canals are laden with USGA specified elevated greens and towering banyan trees.

You can catch the sight of the hotel from each hole while the fairways of Tif-eagle Bermuda grass and over 80 bunkers will make the golfing experience enjoyable.
