Compared with other luxury apartments we have stayed in, we have identified some concerns/niggles for this luxury apartment:
- not all living room lights were working
- two front bedroom lamps were broken (electrical safety issue?)
- there were no blinds in the kitchen or bathroom so absolutely no privacy at night or when windows were open (I have since discovered this has been raised by previous visitors and completely ignored by the owners)
- the stairwell was very shabby, including the last flight to flat 15 which had a rail banister and non-slip matting on a couple of steps missing
- the fire escape guidance was illegible and there was limited evidence of electrical safety testing (not compulsory but how does owner prove safety of electrical equipment?)
- one of the front door keys to the building was broken so we only had one between us (either remove it or provide another key)
Whilst none of the above are necessarily major issues, cumulatively they do not match the luxury label or the price for the apartment so consequently we would not rebook this apartment again.
Regarding the location, be prepared for noise in the evenings particularly if you are staying on a Friday or Saturday night during the summer when, for us, there was a lot of noise/shouting from local youths hanging around and anti-social behaviour including throwing/smashing bottles, urinating in bushes and smoking of cannibas in the shelter near the apartment (a daily occurrence). Our Saturday evening/night was particularly disrupted by loud music being played on the beach until 4am.
Whilst we didnt allow these concerns to mar our stay whilst there, on reflection we think its fair to raise these issues for anyone looking to book the apartment in the future.
