Cozy Haven in Magnificent Marseille

During our recent trip to Marseille, we had the pleasure of staying at an apartment that truly exceeded our expectations. Located in the heart of the city, this cosy haven provided an excellent base to explore the vibrant streets of Marseille. First impressions can be deceiving, as the external appearance of the building wasn't particularly impressive. However, once we stepped inside, we were pleasantly surprised by the charming character and modern amenities of the apartment. The interior dcor exhibited a perfect balance of contemporary touches and a cosy, homey ambience. With tasteful furniture and stylish artwork adorning the walls, we felt immediately comfortable and at ease. The apartment was impeccably clean, and the attention to detail was evident in every corner. The living area was spacious, featuring a comfortable sofa, TV, and a large dining table for enjoying meals or working remotely. The high-speed internet connection was reliable, and we appreciated having this essential resource at our disposal throughout our stay. The kitchen, though compact, was well-equipped with modern appliances, including a refrigerator, stove, microwave, and a variety of cooking utensils. This allowed us to easily prepare breakfast and occasional meals, giving us the freedom to enjoy a taste of local cuisine at our own convenience. The bedrooms were cosy and inviting, with comfortable beds and ample storage space for all our belongings. The bathroom was clean and well-maintained, with a generous supply of fresh towels and complimentary toiletries. The highlight of this apartment was undoubtedly its location. Situated in a lively neighbourhood, we were within walking distance to various attractions, restaurants, bars, and shops.

well located and spacious apartment in the Old Port

Very well located apartment. Quiet, yet close to the action in the Old Port. Plenty of room for 4 people (2 couples) to share the apartment. It was well appointed and the beds/showers were just fine. Nothing bad to say and would stay again.

Could have been better....

We appreciated the owner was kind enough to arrange an earlier "drop luggage" at 2.30pm although the official check-in, at earliest, is "5.00pm" (quite unusual considering check-out rules was latest at 11am). We had a nasty encounter with the assistant (a.k.a cleaner) assigned to hand over the keys. Location has good accessibility although cannot be said to be "best pick" as past reviews have praised. After the 3rd day of a 5N stay, we can tell there are other choices that fall under the same category & central access but at better value. Nice & welcoming large balcony doors for a bit of warmer autumn afternoon sun. Be mindful of endless tour groups passing just one floor below since this is their main route to the Panier neighbourhood.

Apartment is of moderate premium level and the furnishing have since aged. Too many personal/decorative accessories cluttered the living & dining area so much so staying guests can be deprived of their habitual usage of similar spaces for their own personal convenience. Well equipped kitchen however kitchen tools are definitely over-duplicated and again, drawers are cluttered and piled up. Doubtful if some items have been properly cleaned after use. As in many urban centres, rough-sleepers find warmth and less disturbance spending the night along the semi-enclosed corridors of adjacent blocks, so expect stench passing in the morning. BEWARE - Nice host being mentioned frequently and was one of reasons we booked this apartment. Do make sure, if at all possible, check in is taken care of by someone who understands "hospitality" and likes the job.

A lovely, spacious apartment and a very pleasant change from a hotel and great value for money too!

Location (on the quieter side of the port) and near a decent supermarket, security, lovely host, spacious & well equipped, both bedrooms with en-suite facilities, lift was a bonus too!

Large, comfortable, well-equipped apartment, perfectly situated for visiting Marseille.

Perfect location, very large and comfortable apartment, very well equipped, extremely comfortable and large bed (Euro super-king) in master. We did not need 3 bedrooms, but it was almost the same price as a hotel nearby. Well-equipped for cooking if one wanted to cook. Double-glazed windows kept out noise in the square below. Could not be more convenient to the Vieux Port, and parking was a very short walk away. Tip: book and pay in advance on Q-Park website for discount-multiple entry-guaranteed spot in the parking garage. Host provided maps and transit maps. Restaurants, shops within a few steps. Large living-dining area, very comfortable for a base for visiting Marseille.
