Very dirty, smelt not great inside to be honest, and we have loads bugs and flies around the rooms, and we only had one sofa as there other one was literally broken and couldnt sit on it as u would sink to the bottom of the sofa

Getting told at 9 30 pm to turn our music down as someone's 7 year old kid couldn't sleep. 11pm, yeah, I'd have turned it down, but not 9 30pm, They weren't even on our site they were above us. Also, not having any staff on site. If anything goes wrong or something isn't right with the accommodation, there is no body about to do anything about it. trying to enjoy our last night isn't fun because we have to be out by 10am, so we can't drink much because we have to be up early. We spent most of our last night packing, so we didn't have to get up at like half 7.

Quietness of site and good location of site.
1.First lodge was not habitable.
2.2nd lodge was better, but filthy,
3. Broken furniture, i.e., couch, bedroom drawers screwed shut. Blinds broken and filthy.
4.Dishwasher full of dirty pots, when switched on, flooded kitchen.
5. Advised not to use washing machine.
6. Shower disgusting, very mouldy.
7. One hand towel provided.
8. Hot tub badly positioned.
9. One bedroom, the beds had not been changed.

overall it spoiled my birthday weekend as I invited friends to stay as I was so impressed the first time
I stayed at applegrove lodges over the weekend starting from the 19th of may to 21st. I have stayed here before in February and couldnt have been more impressed the lodge was lovely and was very clean. As it was so nice I invited 2 friends to join me on my next trip. As we arrived I was met with the floor been filthy with muddy footprints, the floor had not been cleaned at all, I went into the kitchen which was also filthy, the microwave plate was dirty in the sink with cold dirty water as we arrived. The toaster and work surface around the toaster was full of crumbs. I dont know the last time the floor was cleaned as there was Easter egg all over the floor around the sofa. The sink bowl was way to big for the sink which meant water was spilling all over. The fireplace was filthy and looked like it had never been cleaned. The bathroom had the strongest smell of damp which meant we could barley use it as it was so strong, there was also loads of dead flys in the light in the bathroom. One side of the table was broken and was very sharp, this only came to my attention as my boyfriend had scraped his arm on it. The sofa cushion was ripped/broke so all the foam was poking out and on show. There was various stains all over all the curtains. The oven and the microwave was also dirty. The screws had come out the walls from the tie backs and was just on the floor when we arrived. The door To the master bedroom did not even shut/ or have a lock on it. There was many other faults, overall I am deeply disappointed and embarrassed as I had invited friends to stay and it overall ruined my birthday weekend. I hope to hear back soon, I have been in touch with customer services and heard nothing back yet.

Love the location ideal to get to everywhere and the interior is exquisite, really clean and comfortable. Picturesque views of the countryside, we even seen real wild baby deer upon arrival in the field below near the lake.

The hot tub around the back, so had to walk over muddy grass to get to it. Then nowhere to hang towel, so it got wet.
