The serious problem we encountered was we had funds stolen from safe in our room. Total amount of cash was 6,400.00 Euro approx.
On arrival back to the hotel room we were unable to open the safe. We entered our code the safe would not open. An error code indication appeared on the safe. We phoned reception and the receptionist arrived and entered the master code and the safe opened. The receptionist left the room and when I examined the contents of the safe, the two envelopes which contained the cash were missing. I went down to the reception to report the missing envelopes immediately. The receptionist contacted her manager, he/she informed her that we must file a report in the police station. This was done and there is now a police investigation. We are convinced that the money was stolen during the day time 1st January 2024 as we left the room at 11.30 am. We had checked the safe before we left and all the contents were there, however, when we went to check the safe that night @ 9.30pm this is when we discovered that the theft had taken place. We did request to speak to a manager but we were told no one were available. We also requested the name of the Hotel manager but the receptionist would not give us a name. We also requested a complaint form, and were told this was unavailable. I have engaged an Italian solicitor to investigate the matter and we have forwarded all relevant details to him. He will be in contact with the hotel accordingly.
