The host/boss who I believe was called Guilermo called me a few times leading up to the stay to try and pin me down to an exact time for arrival which is tricky. When I tried to state 2.30-3.30 he made it 3, so that when we arrived 10 minutes before that he was not there. He arrived eventually and was the only host we have had out of 4 in our trip, to ask for the money upfront, and even when we replied credit card to his question of what form of payment, he still said he preferred cash. We duly paid but wished we had seen the room first. I had booked the garden room and this came out at almost 200 euro per night. For that I do not expect to be led to what looks like a rusty lock up, then past the "garden" and to a "Flat" which although spacious was like a shanty town apartment. the furniture looked like it was cobbled together at home and things were rusty and makeshift looking. Don't take my word for it, photos are attached. You can see the headboard of bed and sofa are wood with cloth thrown over. There were scrawls on the walls for decoration, which added to the general "prison" like feel. And finally, the electrics are wired so that you have to switch the lights and electrics off from outside the bedroom, also one switch turn everything on and off, so that you cannot watch TV in bed and have a lamp on, you have to watch in bright light and then get up to switch all off outside. When we tried to discuss with Guilermo he did his usual thing of pretending not to understand English. I wish we hadn't paid before seeing it, it was the worst stay we had with the worst host, and all our other stays and hosts were so perfect - even though this was the most expensive place.
