About This Property

Perfectly located at the gates to The Cathedral Close and ten minutes to Stonehenge. The Chapter House is steeped in history and culture. There are 17 comfortable boutique letting rooms, ranging from (Read More) spacious and luxurious executive rooms to family suites, double rooms and twin rooms. All are unique and quirky, some with original panelling and fireplaces and all with fluffy goose down duvets, Egyptian cotton linen, luxurious designer toiletries and flatscreen TVs. All our rooms are en-suite with walk-in showers, some also have baths, even in the bedroom! Please specify when booking if you have particular preference and we will try our best to accommodate you. All rooms have coffee and tea making facilities, ironing boards, a hairdryers and a safe for your personal goods. The Chapter House boasts one of the best steakhouses in the south west. Here you'll find a selection of house dry aged cuts, finger-licking marinated racks of ribs, handmade pure beef burgers, as well as a wide range of poultry, fish and vegetarian dishes. Every Sunday we serve up our famous Sunday roast, definitely worth booking for! And there's a little South African twist here too with Bobotie and Durban style curries on the menu as well as some top-notch wines from Stellenbosch and The Hemel en Aarde Valley. Join us in our traditional bar for a cocktail or pint of ale by the fireside or in our lovely heated outdoor courtyard - plus there's snuggly blankets if you are still cold!

Another comfortable Knight's stay

Arrived quite late, but Stefan and the staff were still there and greeted me warmly. The wonky stairs and the different floor levels give this place a truly medieval feel.

Choose the bigger rooms!

We come here every year, mainly for its convenient location and warm atmosphere.

Had a small double this year, but the bed was just too small, and had pretty much no sleep. We've stayed in the larger executive rooms before and would definitely recommend those over the small rooms. Unfortunately the prices were higher this year putting the executive out of budget, so I guess you get what you pay for.

management told me they have just renewed the heating system. and will get the problems fixed asap.

radiators in room very noisy did not sleep well at night. Could not turn them off.

Exceptional

Bloody lovely time had by all.

The character. The quality of the furniture, food, bedding, toiletries and service. Very powerful flush on the toilet (thank goodness). The bed was very sturdy - my partner and I tested it to its limits.

Difficulty navigating the wonky staircase. Currently struggling with an injured ankle and the staircase didnt help.
