Dishes are freshly prepared using locally sourced produce, along with homemade jam and marmalade. Ashbourne is home to the St Oswalds Church, which dates back to the 14th century. The surrounding Peak District countryside is ideal for scenic walks. It also offers numerous historical houses, including Kedlaston Hall, which is just 11 miles from Compton House.     A great place to stay
    It was a lovely homely place and very welcoming hosts. Good location. Excellent breakfast.
    Beware of the steps. There were quite a few up and down in the property .BUT , I didn't read the website properly to prepare us for this! Worked out ok for us.

    Great location with free secure parking. Lovely hosts in a cosy warm b&b.
    Getting parked can be awkward but the hosts were very helpful so it was no problem

    Lovely peaceful place to stay close to town with pubs cafes and restaurants nice shops with quality products.
    Nice and clean lovely little touches and very nice breakfast Nice friendly owners and not too far from Alton towers

    Fabulous big room and lovely bathroom .Really comfortable bed and chocolates too with tea and coffee. Really lovely welcoming hosts .Lovely breakfast to set us up for our peak district experience .Free and safe parking but central to the town Would definitely stay again

    This was a wonderful place to stay due to its friendly owners, facilities, location, and breakfast.
    Compton House is such a quaint, comfortable, and friendly B&B. The rooms had everything we needed, including a tea/coffee-making area, and en-suite bathrooms. The location was ideal as it was within a stone's throw from the centre of town, and so everything we needed was easily accessible on foot. We had more contact with Jane, who met our every need in the most accommodating way. She readily gave us advice on what to see, where to go in our spare time, and how to travel to Derby. Her husband David cooked the most delicious full English breakfast. We were a group of 5 adults and 1 child, but we felt welcomed. Thank you to Jane and David for making our wedding weekend stay so comfortable and enjoyable. We recommend Compton House highly, and would return readily!
