I had planned to take my partner (who suffers from autism) away for a relaxing getaway, when I saw the ad for the property I was very happy and knew this would be a homely and comfortable place to take her. This was a huge mistake that has put us out both emotionally and financially.
We knew something seemed strange when Caz insisted we pay her into her bank account instead of to booking.com, however after seeing some good reviews we believed this wouldnt be a bad idea.
On the day of departure we were abruptly woken by banging on the window an hour prior to checkout, causing a serious disturbance in my partners routine (extremely important considering her disability) also my personal routine as I am her full time caretaker.
After being rushed out of the property we were surprised to see that Caren had sent a few photos to us, a dishwasher (that has been cleaned - as were were asked). She took pictures of us In our car whilst packing. i found this quite unsettling as you usually can trust the host will respect your privacy.
another photo showed rubbish that (as per instruction) emptied into the bin outside. Im not even sure what to say about that.
one picture was of a bedroom, with the sheets pulled halfway down to allow for cleaning.
I dont know where to begin on how rude and disrespectful she was, even her long term Gardner apologised to me. My partner suffers from asthma and complained about a strong pungent Smokey ordor both nights.
In conclusion I dont see any other possibility other than Caren (Caz) baited me to pay via unofficial channels - and proceeded to steal my $500 damage deposit
highly recommend causation - only go through booking or Airbnb etc. DO NOT PAY THIS LADY DIRECTLY
