Beautiful classic hotel, close to centre of city.

We had two separate bookings due to a change in our itinerary for our 3 night stay and had booked a suite for the first night, which unfortunately was a little cramp. The l next two nights we stayed in a classic room which was beautiful and much roomier than our suite.Thank you Fable

Fell short of '5-star luxury boutique hotel' for us

Nice big towels. Brownie points for the shaving/make-up mirror. Bed was comfortable. Reasonable location although a bit of a walk to the city centre bars and restaurants.

We were very disappointed with the Classic Room. If you book this type of room make sure you don't get 202. It was tiny and had a very peculiar layout! You had to shuffle sideways between the end of the bed and a table and chair to get to the other side. There was only one chair - two would not have fitted. Thank goodness we only had overnight bags - I have no idea what you would do with one, let alone two, full size suitcases. Not at all what we expected based on the photo used to sell it. The photo on booking.com is the same as the photo of a Classic Room on the Hotel's own website and, in our case, it was very misleading. The bathroom is also 'compact'. You have to be a contortionist to reach the toilet roll as it is wall-mounted behind your right shoulder when seated. Some might describe it as 'cosy' but if there is more than one of you, the word 'claustrophobic' springs to mind. Cosmetically the hotel is very attractive but I was surprised that the renovations did not include putting in double-glazing which would have helped with street noise.
