Falcon Crest Hogmanay Stay

We found the hotel a perfect location for hogmanay, the couple running the hotel were excellent and made us feel very welcome from when we arrived to when we left. The rooms were cosy and spacious and, of course, exceptionally clean. Kathryn and Stewart are excellent hosts. The hotel is close enough to walk to the castle but far enough for a quiet night sleep.

The only thing we didn't like was that we had to leave.

At grandparents house! In a good way :)

The owners are a lovely older couple who will make you feel welcome at all times, they are really nice and always ready to help you out. If you are looking for a place where you just want to go in and out without talking to anybody, this is not the place for you as they are really kind and always ask how are you, how was your day and so on. The guest house has 3 floors without elevator so if you have troubles with climbing stairs then it's not suitable for you. Room was clean, the eating was really nice and the bed was ok. Pillows are really comfortable. The water in the shower could be a bit warmer and have more pressure but it was ok. Towels were more than enough for the stay!

It was our first stay in a guest house and we didn't loved it, just because we felt like we weren't having much privacy. The rooms are next to each other and the hall was small so we could hear the TV sound from the next room. Also you can see the light in the hall when people are walking by, in your room and if the other guests are not careful with the noise it gets pretty unpleasent. The breakfast is served in the room (it is an ok breakfast - could have ham and cheese but in general it's ok, they have bread, fruit, milk and coffee, eggs and bacon), however, the room wasn't exactly prepared for having breakfast there, the table available it's more like a coffee table. You can always eat in bed but it's not the same thing.
