The owner has absolutely zero personal touch. She doesn't phone or meet you in person. I checked in a bit later than planned and was welcomed by the domestic worker who could not really speak English or Afrikaans. I then assumed that the owner would come to my room later to introduce herself but didn't see her that evening. Instead she preferred to keep in touch on Whatsapp. I had to ask the wifi code on Whatsapp and when I asked for an invoice, her replies were very short. As if I was bothering her. The next morning my breakfast was waiting for me in the breakfast room and again, no sight if her. I was given a bacon and cheese omelette to eat and I don't even like omelettes. When I wanted to leave, the owner was nowhere to be seen. When I left, I sent her a message to say how disappointed I was. She then responded by saying she was sick and then sent me a photo of her in bed. Apparently she was sick since the day before but believe me, she sounded perfectly healthy when she sent me a voice note at 5pm. .. If she told me the day before that she was ill and wasnt going to meet me, I would've understood. I'm not sure if she was angry because I checked in a bit later than I said I was going to but I have never received such bad service from anyone at guesthouses or hotels and I have stayed at many over the last 20 years. I read many bad reviews about the lack of touch of this owner and didnt think it could be this bad but believe me, it is very bad. I definitely would not recommend this guest house to anyone. How can you run a guest house when you're not a present host?
