Very good

The Tavern was out of my husbands first 2 choices at 6pm. And my breakfast choice was not what I expected at all, and no remedy was offered.

Great Hotel...

Comfortable clean room, excellent service, first class all the way.

Some of the front desk staff were a bit confused and we always got diffrent answers depending on who was working. Love the front desk on check in they were friendly and helpful.

Superb

A Charming and Comfortable Historic Stay in Salem- walking distance to anywhere in town!

The hotel is in an ideal location for anyone wanting to be able to walk around town- once we arrived, we didn't have to taxi anywhere until we left! Essex street shopping, the historical sights, and even the Hocus Pocus house were all within walking distance. The rooms were clean and had the character you'd appreciate in a historic hotel without lacking comfort and quality. Lobby was beautiful, restaurants downstairs were delicious and convenient. There aren't a lot of bells and whistles, but if you need somewhere convenient and comfortable to stay for a few days between your adventures in Salem, the Hawthorne is a great choice. We will definitely be returning.

Genuinely don't have any pressing complaints- the only thing that was a little tricky was that the elevators are a little small and there's only one set- but again, it's part of the charm of a historic hotel, in my opinion.
