Overall great hotel, but communication around prices needs to be better

Lovely facilities, spacious room, nice sized gym and pool and quite close to Heidelberg old town, 25 min walk or can get a tram, tram stop is down the road. Our room was clean and you have the essentials in your room. Beautiful christmas decorations too! Bar is great too.

Restaurant is quite overpriced unfortunately, we also had a miscommunication on christmas eve when we went to the restaurant for dinner and there was only a buffet available. We were charged 60 each, we contested this as there was no pricing on the menu and this is a lot, the manager took off our drinks. However, still 120 for 2 is very expensive and there are plenty of other restaurants open in Heidelberg old town. Additionally, on check in you are charged 50 per night as a tab and this is not optional. This wasn't communicated to us before arrival so was a surprise.
