    Excellent location (for walks/hiking), a character of an old chalet, a wonderful hotel
    We have driven by this hotel many times. It's an old chalet style - a character of a building. We loved our stay. The room was nice, the dinner we had was very good (as well as an excellent breakfast). And best of all, the next morning we just had to walk a short distance to start our hike. Parking is available (although it can be limited depending upon season etc.)
    We disliked nothing.

    really lovely Swiss experience.
    it was lovey to be in the countryside. quiet location and a beautiful Swiss chalet hotel. breakfast was good but dinner was fantastic, best tomato soup Ive ever had!

    Great Stay, But A Little Short On Comfortable!
    Nice classic old hotel! Rooms are clean! Breakfast was pretty good, not spectacular! In a beautiful location with amazing views of the church and mountains! Bus stop, just down the street!
    Not much interaction between the staff and the guests! They're usually not around! There was a strange high pitch noise I could hear ever so often in my room, not sure what it was, but it was annoying!

    Super great snowboarding trip at a superb hotel!
    Amazing breakfast, a lot to offer. Love the coziness of the place, 100% Swiss Chalet experience. Also had the chance to eat truffle fondue at the restaurant downstairs. Recommended!

    There was a comfortable lounge and TV room on our floor which was not used by anyone but us.
    As the restaurant was closed no staff was on hand at all which was a little creepy. Bathroom was very small and breakfast was very basic.

    Charming hotel in a lovely location.
    Gsteig is a very small town, with one main road on which Hotel Baren is easily found. It is a charming hotel with pleasant staff. Breakfast was good.
    Because we had a long hike to our next destination, we would have preferred an earlier breakfast, but this was just our personal preference, and not a problem with the hotel.
