Disappointing

Disappointing. will never return and could not recommend.

Fare generally good but bowls, plates and cups were slow to be replaced when used up. Do not expect that service in a supposed 4 star hotel. Saving grace were the restaurants by the Marina downhill from the hotel. Excellent food, great service by friendly staff and superb location. Costa Calero management could learn from them.

First time in my life I've ever had to hire the room safe. Black mark. Large room and comfortable but shower was miniscule and leaked onto floor and was never fixed despite advising reception on more than one occasion. Also balcony sliding door lock broken on arrival but repaired. Not a good start/ impression. If one didn't get up at dawn and bag your preferred sunbed with a towel then choice was quite restricted. Drinks/ lunch quite expensive. Once obviously a nice comfortable hotel but now a little tired and past its prime.

Great location. We just keep coming back !

Location & facilities excellent. Great sea view from our room. We received a free upgrade which was a nice surprise too. Very good female singer-Spanish-on Monday of our hols.

Buffet meals had a large & varied selection of savoury foods but desserts were very poor. Overly sweet & not geared -in my view - to the Irish/UK palate. Hotel was also VERY full which presented challenges when seeking sunbeds & at mealtimes. We have stayed before & hadn't experienced this

Good

If our room had been better, it would have been lovely.

Great location. Breakfast was lovely, a really good varied selection every day. The cleaning lady was wonderful.

Our room was a little bit of a disaster. It was at the far end of the complex, and felt like it had been forgotten about. The room itself was spotlessly clean, but a bit shabby. Definitely needed a refurb, tiles were broken in the bathroom, units a bit chipped. Our biggest problem was the air con and beds. The smell coming from the air conditioning unit was awful, quite nauseating. They replaced the filters, which made a little bit of a difference, but not much. Also the beds were some of the most uncomfortable we've ever slept in. The mattresses had collapsed and toppers were added after 2 days, but the damage was done. Surely they should have been there without having to ask for them.
