    We would stay at this hotel again; great staff and location!
    We really liked the location as it was close everything (food, shopping and most importantly seeing the historic sites in Trieste) including the port where our cruise started.
    Our only dislike was a shower that seemed to leak under the door while taking a shower. Shower was a bit small but that is to be expected in a historic building.

    We wanted to be in the center of the port area but also near the port. The James Joyce met both expectations 100%. We spent several days walking the interesting port city area and three minuets walking the bag drag to the ship for departure on our cruise. The hotel itself met all our needs and expectations. We did not pre-order breakfast but did eat and pay for breakfast a few mornings, which was very reasonable, plentiful and excellent. All of the staff was excellent.

    Good location and nice breakfast!
    Shower door didnt close properly .. the toilet seat moved around .. too many lights flashing and shining in the room at night while you are trying to sleep!

    Lovely hotel with lots of character.
    Friendly and welcoming staff. I only stayed one night pre cruise but I would certainly stay there again. The hotel has lots of character - and a lift! It's close to restaurants and a few minutes walk to the cruise terminal.
    A little difficult to find as the hotel is in a narrow street but that was partly because my navigational skills aren't the best!

    Zero view but awesome location if you need the center to be seconds away.
    Location (we needed the hotel to be as close to center as possible, coming for an event)
    The breakfast offer for glutenfree eating people.

    All that we wanted and expected.
    Location was excellent, near to everything we wanted to see and experience. Very close to the main square and cruise terminal.

    We had a wonderful time in Trieste and the hotel was fantastic!
    Excellent location, wonderful front desk person.
    Only minor complaints: a bit far to walk with luggage from the train station, small breakfast room a bit crowded but overall, a really nice hotel.
