    Situated above the skiing town of Grindelwald, Hotel Sonnenberg is a beautiful Swiss chalet offering comfortable accommodation with free Wi-Fi and stunning view of the Eiger mountain. The cosy guest (Read More) rooms all have a private bathroom and a telephone. In addition some rooms have balconies giving panoramic mountain views. Breakfast is served in the Sonneberg’s restaurant. Guests can also benefit from the many restaurants in Grindelwald which is 5-minute’s walk away. Please note that from the hotel restaurant and its terrace the Eiger can be seen but not from every room. In the winter the local skiing is excellent, and in summer Hotel Sonnenberg is the perfect base from which to explore the surrounding area on foot or by bike. A ski deposit room in the centre of Grindelwald is available for a surcharge. Hotel Sonnenberg is a 5-minute walk from the train station.

    Very expensive for what it was. Wont be back there even if the staff was highly friendly and comprehensive! We, Swiss,
    Old Swiss building in a higher location with a good view!
    Terribly noisy. We were woken up by other guest at 2.50am than 4am talking in the corridors and 6.4am jumping in a bed and shaken all of our room!

    Comfortable, nice and cozy
    The room was very comfortable and clean and the view of the mountains gives a special touch to the room. The hotel is very nice, comfortable and beautiful; I loved that it felt so cozy, plus they have a chalet decorated with lights which looks beautiful at night and during the day you can enjoy the view of the mountains from there. The staff is very friendly and attentive and the breakfast was very delicious.

    Great lovely stay in Grindelwald. Would choose a bigger room with a view if I get a chance to come back.
    Great location. Beautiful view of the mountain. Good breakfast in a nice and cozy dining room. Friendly staff.
    Location high up on the hill reachable on foot only is not suitable for elderly or people who are not in good physical shape. Front desk not always staffed but can be easily contacted via WhatsApp. Single room was a bit cramped.

    Would definitely stay here again & refer to friends & family!
    So warm & inviting!! It sits above the town, near the train station, its charming, includes a delightful breakfast, gorgeous views, sat on my balcony with a glass of wine & enjoyed seeing stunning Mt Eiger right in front of me. I was a solo traveler & felt comfortable & safe! The staff - all so nice & helpful!! Nothing was a problem for them! Room clean & cozy- in fact the tub was perfect for a bubble bath! Great value for cost.
    I enjoyed all - even the walk up the final path with my carry on bags- adds to its charm!

    Very enjoyable and we felt well looked after.
    Very friendly and helpful proprietors. Breakfast was very good, well presented and with freshly prepared fruit.
    The hotel is positioned on a hillside, which is great for the view, but it is an effort to get up there especially with cases. The last 200M has to be walked. The hotel would not be suitable for wheelchair users due to the steep slope and the need to access stairs up to Reception and within the building. An external handrail up the stairs to Recepton is currently missing, so those with mobility issues may have concerns.
