Ruined our holiday with bad tempered and inhospitable staff

The man at reception was most unfriendly and unhelpful. The first room offered on 5 th floor had a carpet that was in poor condition and since the lift was broken, we asked to move lower down . The next room offered had a broken fridge so I asked to move again and instead of Apology this man warned me that this room was our last offer!!! The breakfast lady was hostile and stared at us as if we were stealing her food , making us feel uncomfortable. We also had problems parking our 2 m vehicle which I had emailed them about but they had not warned me that most car parks had a limit of 1.9 metres. The reception man did not care and dismissed our concern, but luckily we did our own research and found a garage just 50 metres away , no 14 rue de Bretagne if anyone else has same issue in future , but why didnt the staff have this information to give us as I know it was in one of the questions on the web page site. So overall staff training on hospitality would be a bonus for this hotel as it left us quite stressed !

Disappointing

Overpriced underwhelming cramped unfriendly hotel

The room was clean despite being very small. Small gym had free weights & bench press which was good. Breakfast was OK despite limited choices. Provided toast, scrambled eggs/slices of salmon / jam & butter / pastries / yogurts etc. A member of staff was generally unfriendly & closely watched us throughout the entirety of breakfast which was quite uncomfortable & unnerving. Not entirely sure what the reason behind this was and whether it was to monitor how much food you consumed. But made the breakfast an otherwise unpleasant experience.

Unfriendly staff. Very small rooms with unnecessary large furniture which compounds the issue. Hence rooms felt fairly cramped. Was staying in room by myself thankfully or would have been extremely cramped if staying with someone else. Coffee machine in lobby generated suboptimal flavourless coffee, which was worth avoiding despite being free. Lobby communal space / seating / furniture underwhelming, worn and uninviting. I wouldnt choice to stay at this hotel again for all of the reasons I mentioned above, in addition to the fact that its very pricey despite its poor facilities.

Great location in Marais. Ten min walk to main area Great staff. Room was comfortable. Nice bed.

Carpets need to be cleaned and ideally replaced. In the rooms.

Superb

Fantastic location in the heart of Paris; friendly and helpful management and staff.

Hotel owner/manager Anyl could not have been more helpful when we arrived, helping us with our bags from the taxi and offering us complimentary drinks while we waited to go up to our rooms. Very welcome on a hot Paris day! The hotel itself is in a great location, with plenty of iconic Parisian cafes and restaurants nearby for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and easy access to transport to the must-see sights of Paris. We missed Anyl on checking out and were touched to receive a message from him wishing us well on our onward travels.

No negative impressions!
