Lovely stay. Quiet location away from the very busy main towns.
The hotel was super clean and really friendly. Rita went out of her way to make us feel welcome. She picked us up from the train station and organised a taxi for us when we left. The hotel is a steep walk from the station which is achievable on foot but not with suitcases. Taxis need to be booked in advance although there is apparently a free bus in the evenings after 9. Rita also provided good home cooking and excellent chat!

Beautiful scenery!!!!The breakfast was good with a variety of food-ham, cheese, fresh fruit, juice, various breads, cake, boiled egg. The best coffee was the cappuccino that Rita made for guests if requested. Our room was very clean. Mattresses comfortable. Though we did not have an evening meal there, we had wine one evening in the bar & the food being served looked delicious. There was a van that stopped near train station each night starting @ 9pm that was available to transport us to our hotel @ no cost.
The road from the train station to hotel was quite steep & winding via car. It would have been difficult to impossible for us to walk there. Though we considered ourselves in good physical condition ,when we attempted to navigate the path that led to town, we did not anticipate such a steep incline . After our initial journey to town via this path, we decided to take a taxi for further trips down this "hill". Unfortunately taxis were in short supply & required at least 24 hr advance reservation.

The location is a bit far, but they did organise for someone to pick us up and drop as off at the train station. But there arent a lot of taxis and only two shuttles up there at night. Its about a 15-20 minute walk up hill from the port

The owner Rita waa very accomodating and nothing was too much trouble even collected us from the train station.
Free shuttle bus at night time was good.

Great location, in a small & historic village up on the hill. Apartment had everything we needed plus a great view. Rita & Kirsty were so helpful, picking us up from the station & organizing taxis back from Varenna and Rita's in-house dinners & breakfast were great. A really memorable experience.

Very average. Inconvenient location (unless you have a car)
The bedroom and bathroom were both spacious. There was a pool right outside our front door, although we didnt use it, was a very convenient distance away.
It was quite difficult to find the hotel and it was up in the mountains, very much in the middle of no where, taxis were not reliable in this area and I would not classify it as a safe walk to get to the central town (especially during night time). So unless you have a car and are willing to drive after dinner, I wouldnt recommend for tourists.
