Very good
Chalet for 7 people
Location it's amazing
Like others stayers said the bath is just horrible. The floor was keeping being wet ( flooded) without anyone washing. There is a leaking wich needs attention because it will damage the property! We were using the towels to keep the floor dry, pointless though towels would be soaking wet within 10 min. We have found fingerprints on the windows from previous stayers, dust on lampshades. A little attention for cleaning wouldn't hurt. As a guest payer you need your place clean without traces of previous guests. Kitchen was clean, cutlery also.
Otherwise we got everything we needed. Amazing location, people friendly . We will come back maybe not at the same chalet.

The accommodation, as always, was lovely, cosy, and clean!
Can't comment on staff other than boast house staff as they were the only ones we encountered.
I'm really disappointed that the dry slope wasn't in use. We were not notified about this and had to travel to do other activities. Which ended up costing us a lot more than planned.

Absolutely wonderful getaway!
The location, scenery, decor, hot tub, indoor wood burner, kitchen, bathroom facilities. Luxury of privacy but still feel included in the gorgeous area surrounded by other chalets and near the watersports centre and restaurant/bar. Extras such as kettle and hairdryer. Bonus having parking outside the chalet and having my chihuahua stay with us too. Easy check in and check out. My partner was kindly offered a lift in the Loch Insh mini bus early morning to Aviemore. Will definitely be back! :)
Property itself was superb and no complaints. The path leading to the Boathouse bar and restaurant/Loch Insh watersports centre was not lit up at night, it would be beneficial to have lights for the path at nighttime as its a windey and slightly steep path, and there is a sign from the chalets saying the restaurant is that way.

We liked the area. The staff were very friendly and helpful
We felt the chalet was not clean enough. There were leaves under the sofa. Which made you think was not cleaned and cobwebs up on high windows. The silicone round shower was grime. Could do with being replaced.

Poor
Loch Insh is a stunning location, the resort however is needing some TLC.
Loch Insh is such a beautiful location and the outdoor activity staff were fantastic. The restaurant does lovely meals and the staff were friendly.
The location is a perfect place to base yourself for exploring Aviemore, Carrbridge and Kincraig.
Cardhu chalet had a fantastic view and the steps down to the loch, activities and the restaurant were located right next to the chalet.
Our family were in two chalets, Cardhu was okay but Dalwhinnie was dirty. As soon as we stepped in to the living room you could see the dust and bits under the sofas which hadn't been hoovered. I washed all of the glasses that we would be using because there wasn't one clean glass, lip marks still on them. I had to do the same with the mugs as they were dirty inside. I opened the pots cupboard and without picking up the frying pan, I could see it needed washing.
The dust in the bedrooms was disgusting, there is no excuse for years of dust under beds and behind the heater. There was someone's sock left in under the bed in our room and my son's room had a dead bird underneath theirs which was stinking. When we arrived there was a live robin flying around that bedroom and quite a few blue bottles which we let out when we arrived (just thinking it was from the window being left open when the "cleaner" was in), my son only discovered the dead bird when they were looking for something and thought it had gone under the bed.
The water pressure was very disappointing, and the toilet was barely functioning. I hate wasting water but the amount of flushing required was ridiculous.
The dining chairs are needing replaced as they are frighteningly unstable and coming apart.
There was a power cut and I was surprised that both chalets had no provisions for such an event. Also, once the power was restored the reception building's alarm was sounding and eventually I phoned the out of hours line to ask them to inform the security firm to reset the alarm, this was then sorted quickly. Just think things like that would be considered.
So much potential for this place, I don't mind dated kitchens and shower rooms but I expect rooms to be clean. Disappointed that the contents of the cupboards aren't checked for cleanliness, charging guests 15.

Passable
Not good value for money.
The location was stunning and the staff were great.
The chalets are in need of an update. It was a lot of money for the standard of accommodation. More suited for outdoor group trips.
