Only spent one night and enjoyed the stay

Beautiful traditional tatami mat room. Friendly and helpful staff. The futons were comfortable and the private garden lovely. Breakfast was Japanese style and was very good. Loved the complementary drinks when we checked in. Public onsen was empty and relaxing .

The kaiseki dinner was ok but way too much food and not all to my taste but that is the deal with ryokan meals.

Fantastic in every possible way - exceeded all our expectations

The place was beautiful and the staff were lovely and the traditional Japanese breakfast served in our room was quite a spread! Well worth it, a great start to our trip.

Incredible gem close to Nishiki market

Everything. Matsui Honkan is an exceptional place that I highly recommend: beautiful public bath, super friendly staff, amazing Japanese breakfast, incredible Japanese room for four Everything is top notch!
