Many things. We paid for a deluxe ocean view room and we arrived to find twin beds and no ocean view. We called reception and they said they would send somebody to sort out the bed to make it a double but couldnt move us to another room. Nobody ever came so we had to sleep in twin beds. They refused to refund us for the false advertising of the room (definitely no ocean view). We ordered some drinks to the room because it was New Years Eve, they never arrived. We called room service and they said somebody would call back but they never did. We have stayed in much nicer places with friendly and accommodating staff for a heck of a lot cheaper during our travels in Thailand. The staff wouldnt even call us a taxi or provide a number for a taxi when we were leaving, they said its not part of their service! Would never ever stay here again.

Being still relatively new, I feel the management and staff are still finding their feet (which they should have done by now....). Service is extremely slow at the best of times, and they are massively understaffed. We stayed for 16 nights and had to call reception to request the room to be made up on most days - because by 3pm or 4pm they still hadn't been to service the room. It's not the fault of the house keeping staff who are friendly and do a good job - it's that they are understaffed and battle to cope. There are no staff properly dedicated to serve at the pool. You order from the hotel restaurant, for delivery to the pool side, and spend so much time running around chasing your food / looking for your order. Because of the lack or staff at the pool, there are plates / cups / bottles laying around - the area is not cleaned as it should be. Even thought we stayed in a busy period (December / January), I don't think this is an excuse as they should be equipped to deal with high occupancies. I did speak with the operations manager who assured me they were aware of the issues and were working on them - which included bringing on board more staff, and also getting rid of some under-performing staff. There was often a terrible smell coming from the bathrooms. Something to do with the venting of the plumbing in the building. We didn't even report it because I've read comments from other traveller's and see this mentioned before - and if it hasn't been addressed yet, then what luck would I have reporting it.w We were really disappointed with the New Years eve dinner function. We paid a lot of money for tickets (we are a family of five...), and the even was basically washed out as there was a storm that evening. We managed to grab some food from the buffet in between the rains, but it was cold and not as expected.
