    Pretty good
    Great breakfast (full English), cost 10 per person and filled us up so much we didn't have to have lunch! Also, lovely host, he was very funny and helpful.
    Unfortunately, there was no AC, and the room was often like a sauna, even with the windows open at night

    The downstairs areas were old and very smelly. We didnt fancy eating or drinking here. There was no hot water most of the time. Although there was a kettle and cups, no tea, coffee or milk. Room wasnt cleaned in three nights we stayed or towels changed. I dont know how anyone can give anything but lowest ratings for this hotel. We thought it was derelict when we arrived. We suggest Bookings.com make an inspection

    Nice room, comfy beds, good parking, town centre location.
    Room clean, tidy and comfortable. Bar open to guests in evening. Gated carpark.
    No meals provided unless requested in advance. Outside was a bit tatty.

    The Bed was very comfortable Lovely spacious room.The Host Pete was very friendly and welcoming.
    Very small telly, no coffees milk or sugar on day of arrival . No Hosts on the mornin of leaving.

    The Middlegate is a basic accommodation which is ideal for males walking the coastal path , dont expect 5* luxury but the bed linen and towels were clean also the toilet and shower were of generous size and clean with a very good electric shower unit. The accommodation was fine for my needs on a walking holiday, free parking, right in the middle of town with a bus stop a few other pubs and cafes , chip shops all on the same street. Peter was a friendly and helpful host.

    room was big enough for one person, free parking, close to town, excellent value for money, the staff was great, Peter even arranged a medical appointment fir me.
