Perfect position for a visit, clean but dated hotel as you would expect from an old building.
The position of the hotel is excellent, its dated as you would expect from an old building but clean in all areas.
Parking is on the street outside, its 6 per day I think. My room was cold at night, it had a small electric radiator but I never got it to work, thought I had when I went out but.... summer duvet?

Passable
This place will leave you feeling worse not better. Avoid if you dont want to be depressed.
The location was good. The staff were polite. The bed sheets and towels were really clean and crisp.
It was really dated and old. It needs a thorough make-over. The automatic door at the entrance was broken and stuck half open making it difficult to walk through with bags. The entryway was littered with debris and rubbish. Our room was really depressing. The room was laid out badly, the lamps were broken and filthy with stains, the hairdryer was so old it had no power to dry the hair quickly. The sea-view wasnt possible as the double-glazed window was blown and completely misted over. The cold sink tap in the bathroom didnt work no matter how much you turned it. The sealant in the bath/shower had black mould - so easy to replace. The bathroom itself was so old and tired and too small. You could barely turn around. You couldnt lock the door once in the room and the cleaner came straight into our room in the morning which quite frankly isnt good enough. We didnt enjoy the stay at all and couldnt wait to get out.

Pleasant
Great views! Not great for a special occasion.
We hired the Estuary suite for the night of our wedding. There were petals on the bed which was a nice touch. The rooms were spacious and the bed was very comfy. The view in the morning was amazing.
When we arrived the night porter couldn't find my booking for ages which was a bit stressful. The redecoration is quite miserable, all very grey. When we arrived it was very cold and we couldn't get half the heaters working. The coffee unit was full of crumbs, hadn't been cleaned properly. When we came down for breakfast it turns out it wasn't included (despite me phoning ahead and letting them know it was the night of our wedding) so we had to pay another GBP27, and to be honest it was quite a disappointing breakfast. Better save your money and head somewhere else to eat. All in all it was quite an anticlimax.

Disappointing
Good location but not a luxurious hotel which is what it was made to be
Location
The finish on the room we stayed in was poor, bathroom had mould stains in the corners, link flooring had splits all over it, the tiles had smears of grout and silicone all over them, the hot tap took 10mins to get hot, they painted doors and not the frames and got white paint on old discoloured wood work, looked like they used a cowboy builder for the work in the room, the mattress felt lumpy and lob sided,

was just down the road to the cliffs pavilion about a 7-10 min walk
only thing was after being at show we went to the bar there was two people sitting with their drinks but we waited around the bar but no one came to serve us. There was no bell to ring or to let us know how to get hold of one of the staff.

Christmas Stay
The room was lovely, clean, spacious with a nice view.
Bed comfortable and radiator on so room was warm. Tv with fair amount of channels.
Large clean bathroom.
No regular coffee, only decaf. No milk or stirrers.
Altho, some were brought up to our room when asked along with more teabags.
Wanted to use the whirlpool bath but strong smell of drains when turned on put me off.
We stayed Christmas night but when we went to bar, all the cask ales had run out, only bottle beer available and card machine down, so only cash.
This would have been the same the next night, Boxing Day, as a delivery of beer would not have been made for another week.
