Disappointing

Not for light sleepers, not even with earplugs.

It's composed by a few wooden bungalows and a main wing in Thai style, it's got its ancient flair.

Maybe all Ayutthaya is loud but this place is next to a 4 lanes road, plus we asked for a quiet bungalow over 1 month before arriving but we were placed in the only bungalow confining with the main road, with no chance to change as we arrived in the late afternoon. We had to leave after one night, we found a less characteristic but quieter place.

Dirty and noisy hotel, not recommended

Location, proximity to the temples and friendly family running the hotel.

We stayed at the "superior room" in the main building. Room was super dirty with spider webs, dead flies, and lots of dust. It was clear that it has not been cleaned for weeks! What is more, there was a constant noise whole night long. The wall are super thin so you could hear people walking, talking, flashing toilet. Moreover, there was a constant noise whole night long every 8 minutes coming from wall and from koel bird. I couldnt sleep at all till 5 am in the morning. Worst stay ever! Dirty and noisy!

Pleasant

The manager is friendly, helpful and anglophone. The road is quiet at night. There is a small shady garden and the temples and many tourist-oriented restaurants are around the corner.

My garden bungalow room B1 was very small and dark with limited privacy. It had no fridge, no desk and no indoor chair (a first for me in Thailand, and often I had cheaper rooms); but there was a bench on the front porch (again, no real table there) and more benches in the little garden. Mosquito protection recommended, as always. Aircon and shower worked well, but the very small bathroom with no hooks and no extra board for your things looked decidedly old. My next bungalow neighbor was noisy, inconsiderate and a nuisance. There also was this cuckoo like typical Thai bird (probably a greater coucal or crow pheasant (Centropus sinensis)) on two mornings making a big racket from around 4:00 a.m.; maybe, if one was more energetic at 4:00 a.m.; one could shy it away.
