The staff was extremely friendly and the guy named "Karan" was superb at service.He helped us in every way possible to make this trip worthwhile. I would suggest the homestay owner to promote him immediately as a supervisor for the hospitality and the service he is providing to the guests 24*7 and his behaviour was extremely polite and humble. I would give him a 7star out of 5. The room ambience and the view was nice.

I would recommend fixing a mirror in the room. It is almost 20-25 minutes walking distance from the mall road. It becomes hectic at times to fill the drinking water from Kent which is placed outside the room, it would be really great if it can be arranged inside the room for the guests.

Spectacular view of the mountain otherwise nothing special about the host and facility.

Breakfast is decent, one-egg thin omelette and lots of white toasts, butter and jam, no coffee. The room is clean, quite spacious, Wi-fi is good, the view of the Kanchenjunga from the window is spectacular! The host-related family members and staff were helpful and friendly but not much communication in English. Mr. Priyak is not on the property.

Room rate not included heating, must pay extra cost to have electric heater/appliances when it's cold. They did give us extra comforter though. Wash room water heater takes a long time to warm up but the water comes out luke warm at best, so we did not have any good showers during the stay. They are supposed to charge us through Booking Credit Card but the staff insisted that we paid in cash (INR) bummer! and we did not get any written receipts/invoices for the stay. Before my arrival, Mr. Priyak Lama often texted me many times asking for confirmation of our stay and agreed to schedule our airport pickup/drop off per my flight schedules. However he was not on the property and he never informed us about his whereabout during our stay. He also booked the airport pickup at the wrong scheduled time and did not schedule for the drop off ahead of time. Very disappointing!

A real Homestay !!

In very rare occasions I recommend hotels and home stays to friends and family after going back home. But I am gonna highly recommend this one. I guess that says how much I liked the property. Unlike most places where shady hotel rooms have been converted into homestays this place is an actual one staying with an ever smiling and helpful family.

Just the fact that its a bit difficult to get a cab to mall. But Priyak efficiently arranged for a cab always and the guy didnt only pick us up but also dropped us back.

Kanchanjanga from your room

Lemme elaborate this. We found this place through extensive search of a place with very good view, good and clean place and peace (not congested). We found this place, talked with the owner regarding some queries and finally booked it. Although we were sceptical about it because it was 1.5km away from the Darjeeling Mall, we absolutely adored it once we reached the place and our room. Location : The location is walking distance lil downhill from the Forest office. Although in Google map it'll show another way. If you need to go somewhere (and you don't have a cab already), you need to go to the main road and get h a cab from there. There's no rikshaw available. We majorly fetced cab to go to the Mall so it took 200-300 for one way trip for 3 of us. Also Zomato gets delivered to the homestay doorstep and you can get 2-3 restaurants in the walking distance which provides normal food with not much variety. View : We booked a room with the mountain view. Our luck worked very well throughout our stay that we were able to see Kanchanjanga absolutely clearly. And most importantly, seeing the view from our room's window. And the night view is a different kinda amazing because of the lights on the mountain slopes of the different buildings and all looked like a splendid view. Room : The room was well decorated with wooden walls and floors. We had clean bedsheets, clean pillows and blankets. We had a geyser in the bathroom, toilet paper, one dustbin. A place to keep cloths. A full sized mirror. 2 chairs. 1 table. Also one kettle and another dustbin in the room. Service : Breakfast, lunch and dinner Avtwith additional cost. For breakfast you'll get options like alu paratha, bread omelette, Puri sabji etc. for lunch and dinner you'll get thali options as veg, egg, fish and chicken. The price you can ask the owner. We got good service as per request as well.

The views from the room and balcony were fantastic

It was very difficult to find and there was no name on property. It was down a maze of alley ways. Once we walked into the neighbours. Also there was no service- over 3 days no cleaning or change of towels. The only English speaker was rarely around. The family whose kitchen we had to walk through did not welcome our presence. It was all very amateurish

1. View of Janu, Ratong, Kabru, Talung, Kanchenjunga (Yalung kang, Main/North Peak, Central peak and South peak - four above 8000 m peaks), Pandim, Siniolchu etc snow peaks and view of Darjeeling city from room and balcony 2. Running water, hot water, power plugs, electric kettle etc facility 3. Wooden lining interior of the room which keeps the room naturally hot without any room heater 4. Clean beds, bathroom, blanket etc 5. No comments on TV as we never tried

1. Price is higher than similar hotel rooms, the price should be ok if included at least morning tea, breakfast and dinner 2. No bill was given. Probably to evade income tax / GST. I have not asked, but why one should ask for receipt, it should be naturally given without asking. 3. There is no Sign Board or marker to indicate direction from main road to home stay or at the entrance of homestay. I know Google map is there. But uncle Google fails sometimes. And it is worse when you are not getting internet with your SIM card of different service provider. 4. 2.2 km away from Chowrasta Mall. And to reach mall, you can use car with INR 200 /- per trip or walk through dusty / smoky road. To reach mall, walking through polluted road with dusts and smokes of cars to Mall was very painful. If the walk was through clean and less polluted road, it could be enjoyed. Slope is not a matter for , we tried couple of alternative roads, but both are congested with smokes of cars and smell of petrol.
