I recently stayed at the Novotel Hotel with my family on 26th December and unfortunately, I have to say it was a disappointing experience. From the moment I arrived, there were several issues that made my stay less than enjoyable.
Firstly, the check-in process was chaotic and disorganized. Eventhough there were no long lines at the front desk, it seemed like the staff were overwhelmed.
It took far too long to get checked in, and when I finally did, the front desk staff seemed indifferent and uninterested in providing a warm welcome.
Our rooms were not ready at check in and we had to wait a further hour before our rooms were prepared. After several phone calls and having to make my way down to reception from the 7th Floor I was able to get the situation resolved. To compensate the hotel offered each guest a complimentary drink.
However, we ordered watermelon juice and this came with the added bonus of partially crushed seeds which we promptly returned.
Unfortunately two of the guests could not take advantage of the drinks as the hotel had already delayed us at check in. They were not compensated at all.
The overall customer service at the Novotel Hotel was also lacking. The staff seemed disinterested and inattentive, and it was difficult to get anyone to address my concerns or provide any meaningful assistance. It was clear that there was a lack of training and supervision, which resulted in a subpar guest experience. The lady with the short hair at the front desk was far too busy on her phone than to take our concerns seriously. Surely this cannot be acceptable in any way shape or form!
In addition to this, the staff were unable to pass on messages or deal with queries effectively despite the Hotel being partially empty. But they were very quick to request our check-out where we had multiple phone calls and a bonus visit.
