Left stranded

We have pre-advised the property that we would be arriving around 3am. They gave us the code to the lock box and our room number. On arrival, we opened the lock box and there was no key in it! We were stranded outside and had to keep ringing the doorbell until another guest eventually let us in. The guest tried calling the owner for us and there was no answer. Just when we had resided to a night of sleeping in the corridor, we found the key in the drop off box (inside the property). If it had not been for another guest hearing us, we would have been left out on the street all night. It is now 2 full days later and the property have still not read or replied to my messages sent through the booking.com platform that evening. I also informed the owner the next morning (despite the language barrier) and there was not even an apology.
