Great stay near Porthmadoc-very handy for narrow gauge railways, Portmeirion and Snowdonia.
Outstanding hosts with lots of local knowledge. House very comfortable, full of local and national history both literary and entreprenurial- Shelley, Maddocks, Clough-Ellis etc. Really good breakfasts, fabulous views south to Harlech and quiet too. Relaxing gardens-very good for bird watching!

Perfect setting for a couple of nights away with the wife.
Wonderful atmosphere from Howard and Mark. Breakfast has to be one of the best I have ever had. Particularly loved sitting on the veranda with a glass of wine looking out over the gardens and the sea on an evening.
The only thing I could vaguely find fault with is the driveway, its a little lumpy in a low slung car.

One of the most lovely historic homes we have ever stayed at!
Excellent location. Beautifully restored historic home. Exquisitely decorated and furnished to an extremely high standard. Attention to detail on every level was second to none. Tranquil environment with breathtaking views from a beautifully landscaped garden. Breakfast was delicious with the BEST poached eggs! I will miss them! Cleanliness was outstanding. Excellent fluffy pristine white towels and robes. Outstanding quality bed linen. We cannot fault this wonderful property and its delightful hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely return to this jewel of a property in North Wales.
    This property is faultless!

Back in time but with all the modern comforts!
Couldnt fault our stay here. Friendly host who met us at the front door. Comfy room and lovely breakfast. There was a guest lounge that we used on one evening and a verandah where we sat overlooking the most spectacular scenery. It was like going back in time with the decor but with all the modern comforts!
The directions to get there were confusing. We put the post code in our SAT NAV and it took us up a narrow winding track into someones private property where it was difficult to turn around. The only other thing was we walked into the village on two occasions and although only about 10 mins away found it a little dangerous as there was no proper footpath on some parts of a fairly busy road. Of course this isnt something that the property owners can do anything about.

    First Class!
This guest house is truly exceptional. We had been travelling for 7 weeks when we arrived, but immediately felt like we were coming home and could relax The house is beautifully furnished with fabulous history and stories about Shelley and others (that have been narrated and can be played in audio prompts around the house). The location is great for exploring northern Wales by car. Our room was spacious, furnished with respect to the history and well-appoointed with everything you could want while travelling, and with amazing views ( even from the bathroom). The breakfast was the best we have had on our travels. But most of all, the warmth, humour, and genuine hospitality from Mark and Howard made this a very special and memorable 2 days.
That we only had 2 days there! And that it's so far from Melbourne.
