    Covid reprise - very nice stay in a well located hotel
    Nice room, and very good breakfast. Great location just down the road from the Cathedral which is a must see and we enjoyed the rooftop tour. We'd originally booked this hotel for Dec 2020 but Covid intervened so we were pleased to be able to finally enjoy a stay at this hotel.
    There was no atmosphere in the bar and the staff seemed more interested in clearing up and cleaning everywhere than creating a friendly and welcoming environment.

    Lovely place to stay
    Lovely large room, big comfy bed and luxury bedding, the copper bath was great, very good breakfast. Right in the centre of town so perfect for sightseeing. We will definitely be back!

    It was a lovely hotel right in the centre of Ely. Parking close by. Would stay again.
    We liked the bar area and restaurant. We had a huge room with a huge bathroom. bottle water ,crisp, dressing gowns and slippers were a nice extra.
    More variety on the dinner menu.

    Everything we could ask for.
    Elegant and boutique decor and fantastic central location. The staff at Poets House really make this hotel, The reception staff were lovely and the dining room in particular has the best waiters and waitress Ive come across! Friendly, Cheery they all had a lovely manner making for such a nice evening. There are many places to eat nearby however so glad we ate in house because the brilliant restaurant staff make the food all the better!
    The car park is not onsite.

    Very comfortable stay in a room at the rear of the property. Sybil
    Great location for local interest, including the legacy of once owner and educationist, Sybil Marshall. The property has been sensitively restored and staff were friendly, accommodating and competent.
    Breakfast could have sourced better quality produce, such as fresh orange juice.

    Brilliant location. Pleasant outside areas as well as excellent rooms. The copper bath was fun. Breakfast was good and well cooked. Happy wedding party took over most of the hotel during the day we were there.
    Parking is off-site isn't ideal when it is pouring with rain. Slightly chaotic checking in, due to an inexperienced member of staff. The wedding could have proved intrusive to some (we actually enjoyed observing the happy celebrations - it was a gothic themed event!)

    Nervous about bath given our age and declining physical mobility. Lack of ordinary or loose brown sugar at breakfast.
