    Everything, from the reception staff to breakfast. Beautiful, modern hotel, clean and centrally located to the main activity street.

    Hotel was top class and staff friendly. Would definitely recommend Protea Hotel Clarens.
    Nothing to complain about. Wish we could stay longer.

    The shower had lots of black algae between multiple wall and floor tiles.. They definitely need to focus a bit more on the shower cleaning. But for all the rest, awesome hotel, and we had an awesome stay. They will see us again.

    Location and view of mountains.
    We chose a room with a balcony, but was not aware that you can not even smoke on the balcony(no smoking signs on balcony rail) Cushions of the beds was very big and not soft enough. Our room 106 entrance keycard kept on expiring every 24 hours. Staff suspect there was a malfunction on the electronic door lock itself.

    Excellent location in the heart of Clarens Staff were helpful, kind and caring Food was very good, exceeded my expectations Short distance to Golden Gate Park (20kms) Rooms were comfortable and clean
    Very little to complain about but I have to nit pick Pool is smaller than it looks on the photos but still fine Breakfast is not as vegan/vegetarian friendly as it could be

    Beautiful views and peaceful location
    Mountain Views, chilled vibes and the hotel staff (Malefane made our anniversary special by including our request to put champagne and rose petals. Much appreciated as he went above and beyond to make our day super special).
    The keys to open the hotel room sometimes doesnt work properly and one has to go back to reception to get it activated again which can be frustrating and time consuming. Other than that, we had a fabulous stay.

    Great location!
    The room is a bit sparse for the cost but I believe the other room options may be a little more comfortable. The breakfast options are also really limited for a vegan.

    I loved every single thing about my stay at the hotel - literally!!!
    The room was spotless (completely clean). There was enough car parking space. The entire hotel looked amazing. The receptionists were very welcoming and helpful. The view from my room was (I think it was room 212) breathtaking. The breakfast was delicious and looked very appetizing (and there was more than enough food so it was value for money). The hospitality was on point... There is a young African gentlemen called Donald, he has the biggest and most genuine smile and very informative about the area and other places to visit for entertainment in/around Clarens (please give him a raise/bonus/award or something because he understands how to treat guests with the utmost respect). The next time I am there, I will want to be served by Donald at the eating/restaurant area of the hotel - that is how good he is with people.
