Overall, I liked and would recommend.

Roomy apartment and location.

While pillows, sheets and comforter were clean and okay - they are a bit old. No body lotions in shower container.

Exceptional

Nice quiet spot. Close to transportation & the beach. Clean room with cooking facilities and a full size refrigerator. We were able to save money not having to go out for every meal. The bathroom was huge. Stefano keeps beach accessories, body boards and snorkeling equipment for guests I highly recommend Puu Koa Palms to anyone thinking about visiting Maui.

Bad

Big balcony, close to Paia town.

This rental is an overpriced run-down flat in serious need for a renovation and was not properly cleaned when we arrived (our feet were brown within 10min of walking barefeet inside). The pipes made a deafening whistle sound each time we turned on the water and there were cockroaches all over the place. As we had just settled in, we got informed via a note left under the door that there was a pesticide service coming the next day to spray against bugs in the apartments (while all our stuff was in there, which we had to pack and put away for the services to have access!) I've never heard of such an inconvenience happening while I am staying somewhere - better do this stuff while there are no guests staying in the rooms, how about that? We could not return to our apartment for several hours although we were jet-lagged & in desperate need for sleep. And the days after there were construction works directly under our window - super! Overall we were looking forward to staying there but we're extremely disappointed and feel like we wasted too much money on a room clearly not worth it. I personally would be rather ashamed to offer my guests such "hospitality". We were disgusted by the roaches and did not even get basic rest here, let alone the so-called "Aloha" feeling.
