    On arrival at the restaurant we got a friendly welcome from staff and were accompanied to our room and shown how to operate appliances etc. We had booked the small room, which was a bit tight for two people, but was tastefully decorated and had quality soft furnishings and bedding. The room was immaculately clean, with a comfortable bed and lovely shower room. There was also a nice selection of teas and fresh coffee for the cafetiere as well as two freshly made Christmas pies!. We thoroughly enjoyed a late lunch of soup and sandwich of the day and perfectly cooked scallops. You could watch the chef making everything in the open kitchen . There was a lovely breakfast menu from which we selected scrambled eggs with bacon and poached eggs with smoked salmon and hollandaise sauce. All absolutely delicious, quality ingredients - even our pots of tea were made with 'real tea'. Highly recommend this establishment We'll definitely stay there again but in one of the bigger rooms.

    A touch of class
    Literally stuck a pin in a list and booked the place .. as the fates would have it a brilliant gamble. The rooms were top notch in style and comfort and the Sugar Boat itself rivalled many of the 5 star places I stayed in over the years. But the best thing was the people who worked there, makes such a difference to a stay Will be back - every month !!!
