Excellent place to stay in a lovely interesting part of Plymouth, great food at Bistrot Pierre.
The hotel was very quiet and comfortable, the bed and mattress was excellent. The Bistrot Pierre across the green served us a wonderful breakfast, we really enjoyed it. The surroundings are historical and very interesting, we learned a lot and would like to return for a proper day out.
We arrived in the evening and were due to travel to a family gathering; beforehand we had some spare time and dropped into Bistrot Pierre, hoping to have a drink at the bar before moving on. A member of staff told us quite abruptly that they were fully booked and we could not come in, not even for an hour or a drink in the bar area. (There were empty tables and there were bar stools at the bar, with no one about). I appreciate it was just before Christmas but to be honest it wasnt so much the decision as the short manner in which it was delivered that was unfriendly. We didnt see this member of staff the next day when we had breakfast, the staff then were lovely and welcoming. It was a middle aged man.

Fabulous rooms but breakfast very disappointing
Beautifully renovated building and room. Bed and linen delightful. I would highly recommend the room.
Breakfast was included in our booking but was absolutely shocking! I had a small soggy bit of bread with I must admit tasty mushrooms and my partner chose a sausage brioche bun. When he asked for 2 eggs instead of the one included on the menu he was told it would be an extra charge of 75p. Bearing in mind the alternative options on the menu included eggs Benedict and Royale, both of our choices were very modest. This seems terribly petty considering the overall cost of the package but also I could have had an egg but chose not to!

Comfortable stay in a great location.
Room was lovely with a view of the courtyard garden. Comfortable & warm. Quiet & easily accessible. Location opposite Bistro Pierres so not far to go for breakfast. However the breakfast was disappointing as they had ran out of milk & sausages. Having stayed before & raved about the breakfast to our friends who also stayed overnight this was embarrassing. But dont think the options with the rooms gave you a choice whether to have breakfast or not.
    Breakfast.
