Disappointing deterioration for what used to be one of the best Kathmandu hotels

This used to be our favorite hotel in Kathmandu - we have stayed there at least 3 times before this one (it did change buildings a few years ago - we have been at both). The location is great, right at the Thamel.,

Unfortunately, the maintenance there is bad. Rooms are very tired, not clean, half the lightbulbs are burnt. The elevator was broken during our stay, as well. Climbing to the 5th floor in the Kathmandu humidity is not recommended!

- The property is definitely not within the standards of a four star establishment - The is a serious issue with unstable electricity which will definitely mess up your devices. The TV on the wall was not working because of the shirt circuit in the room. Once there was an electricity cut because of this. - The place has not been thoroughly cleaned for a very long time. There was dirt on the floor and the ventilation system in the bathroom was not working, so every time you take a shower, the room just steams up. Overall, the place shows a very serious lack of proper management

Not much.

Room wasn't clean. Old stuffs everywhere including quilt, pillows and decoration. If it is a family room why only one cup? Bit strange. I have to ask reception for towels, fix wifi by myself and tv was not working. Called reception to fix tv but no one turned up.
