Great minus the smoke with no measure of apology

The window was broken and the room filled with smoke from outside, notified staff and nothing could be done. They just made a joke about it. Meanwhile we were coughing and eyes burning.

Lacks customer service!

So this is a really really lovely hotel. The detail they have thought of is really quite something. They even thought of putting fresh milk for your tea in the fridge and labelling when it was poured. The facilities were great, the room was spotless. The decor, sublime!

The bed was not very comfortable and the noise from the street starts at 4am. This is when it woke me up! I didnt make too much of a fuss but knew I had had a booking for January and asked whether I can request (a month in advance) for them to put me in a quiet room. Their reply was that they can put this as a note on my account but they cant guarantee it! Im sorry, what? If I am telling you this far in advance, its either you can re-allocate my room, based on the bookings on the system, or you cant. There is no in-between. When I said I would like to cancel my booking, there was no haste, or an effort to save the booking. She just said, you booked through an external site so you will need to cancel it through them. It just goes to show, just because you have a beautiful hotel, doesnt mean you will get repeat bookings with staff who treat their guests like this. How disappointing. I really loved my room, my stay and all the well-thought out details but I would like to sleep past 4am.

Everything was right - amazing, helpful staff, delicious beers, huge breakfast, beautiful rooms, cozy beds and atmosperical bar space. COMING BACK FOR SURE!
