    location, safety of the area, walkable spot with lots to see and big park nearby.
    Only issue was no sound isolation, big gaps under doors so we could hear everything from the very early am

    Nice old villa close to the center of Albany
    Very nice and old villa close to the city center. Parking included!
    The public areas were not clean, the arrangements (especially breakfast) arranged with no love. The pictures deceive. Very poor cost benefit ratio. I would expect more from a 4 star accommodation.

    Overall, we enjoyed our stay!
    The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Great location next to the park and walking distance to restaurants and cafes. The lounge and cocktail area is beautiful and the cocktails are excellent. Rooms could use a little updating. Love that they are pet friendly

    Great room terrible service
    Got the carriage house for our group. Large and nice. Parking included.
    Staff was not good at all. I called to confirm but when we arrived the place wasnt ready. Owner seemed very unconcerned and didnt offer us even a free drink to compensate for our lost time in our rooms. Had to really argue with her.

    Great money making venture for owners. No staff, and no services.
    beautiful exterior, lobby.
    I was very disappointed with my stay. The room was adequate, not the same as the pictures. There was no breakfast in the morning - nothing was available and the coffee maker was not functioning. There were no staff to be found at all on the property.

    I found myself in an unfortunate situation and I needed a hotel room under short notice. The Argus came to my rescue and
    Friendly and cooperative staff.
    Rooms were simple, but still comfortable.

    Book direct with property not thru Booking.com
    There was a major problem with the Booking website. I was able to book a room that was blocked by the owner. The property is a historic building and the owner is a wonderful hostess. She worked diligently to correct the problem with the Booking website to get us credit. Will definitely stay there if in the Albany area in the future but will book directly with the property not thru Booking.com.

    Not your typical hotel
    We never stayed at this property.
    Doors were wide open but No one was in the hotel when we arrived. We walked in and found an office with a couch that seemed as if someone was sleeping in there because it had pillows and sheets on the couch. In the dining room was fruit and a bagel left over from the morning. The bar had dirty glasses and crumpled tablecloth on top. Walked up stairs looking for someone. Stairs were dirty and wrought iron had dust an inch thick. Rooms were sparse and empty. It was creepy. So I called and said we didn't feel comfortable staying there. The owners then came back from their walk and said they wanted it to feel like home. My home is nothing like that so we left. Owner said we wouldn't be charged.
