The apartment was very dated, the cutlery and pots and pans were dirty, the windows didnt lock, the sofa was all ripped.

Good location overall, attractive setting. Decent internet connection.
Asked for the 3 properties we booked to be as close together as possible. Ended up hugely separated. Lots of problems applicable to the cottage booked for 3 adults, 1 dog and 1 infant. No mat to wipe your feet on entry. Dishwasher lacking salt and washer fluid, which we had to purchase. No handwash in the kitchen or either bathroom. Very stark. No welcome pack to explain how things work -- no instructions for the heating, kitchen appliances, etc. Mould on the inside of the windows in the main bedroom. Generally felt like the owner cares little about guests. Curtains and pictures referenced Cornwall -- certainly not a celebration of the fabulous Yorkshire coast on which it is situated. Would not book again.

Good break but property was a let down
The property was in a great location, near all the facilities. It slept 4 people. It was very warm, and spacious.
The furniture was very very worn, it needed all new soft furnishings. The shower was very hard to turn on/off, I think it needed a new fixture. The table and chairs were very scruffy/worn. The freezer door didnt shut so everything defrosted. It needed lots more homely touches. Compared to other properties that I have stayed at The Bay in this one was by far the poorest

Well we arrived with fairly low expectations it was a cheap last minute break. We arrived at 2, check-in was 4. No option to check in early or use the facilities so we went for a walk with the dog on the beach. Long queue to check in at 4, seemed to be lots of problems for people who had already checked in. One lady was told she could go home if she wanted. Finally checked in at 4:30 and went to the pool which should have closed at 6 but closed at 4:45 due to staff shortages. Back to the house. Very basic. No WiFi, not a problem there should be WiFi at the pub but it doesn't work and never does according to the staff. In the house the TV didn't work, 3 of the 4 bathroom lights didn't work and the kitchen just about had enough cuttlery for the 4 of us, but utensils etc really limited, beds were comfy. Nice location, pool was good, pool toilets were disgusting. All in all we had low expectations of a cheap getaway and I suppose you get what you pay for. The site desperately needs some tlc and staff to be better managed. Probably wouldn't return.

Peaceful, just what we needed.
Very well appointed cottage, all the amenities we needed. Easy to find and lovely communal areas. Well set out grounds, not 'on top of' each other. Staff were extremly polite and helpful.
The fact that Booking.com had not passed on to you the severe allergy information. Not your fault at all and you immediately helped with the situation.
Gym door not easy to open, sticks. Rowing machine far too 'strong', even on lowest setting, for anyone with a chest /heart condition to use it.
