Cosy cottage spoilt by penny pinching and economical truths

Penny pinching: No complimentary tea, coffee, milk - after arriving stressed from Storm Bibet this was not very welcoming 1/4 of a toilet roll!! 1/4 of a kitchen roll!! 1 log and a couple of firelighters and not even a match! We had to borrow a lighter from the barmaid in the pub next door! Connected to the router several times but every time tried to log onto the internet, got thrown out. Gave up in the end. Meant we couldnt clarify any of these points with the owner Shower was poor: I could only get tepid/cold. My partner managed to get scalding hot. Pets are allowed BUT its not till you get there that they share that pets are not allowed upstairs. Im with my dog 24/7/365. Are guests expected to sleep on the sofa? This should be made prominent in the ad. I wouldnt have booked Car parking (merely a muddy grass verge outside the cafe at the top of the very steep hill). We only booked this cottage because it said it had a parking spot - we thought it would be in the village. Im fact we were going to bring a relative who has breathing difficulties. Fortunately she couldnt come otherwise things would have got really complicated). This should be made very prominent in the ad. I wouldnt have booked. after such a streaaf journey, we really didnt need ANY of these complications

I loved the authenticity of this little cottage which was only a two minute walk from the harbour. It was warm, but we lit a log fire too which was lovely. It had all mod cons, and our bed was so comfortable! Dog friendly too!

The only thing I didn't like ( and this was nothing to do with the cottage) was if the tide was in, and our dog couldn't use the beach for his business, there didn't seem to be any pieces of public grass for him to use. Of course we cleaned up after him, but he had to use the pavement which felt wrong.

We had a wonderful time staying in the village and around the area.

Loved the location on the High Street in the middle of the village. Just a few paces to the harbour and some shops. The locals were friendly and welcoming. Pleased to have a parking space up the hill for our cottage. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds.

The cottage is very dark ,the lightbulbs are low wattage. Just one way in and out (front door)made me feel a little nervous about the fire safety, although plenty of fire extinguishers around the home. Accessing the attic bedroom may be a problem for the disabled as the steps are narrow and very steep.
