Overpriced but okay stay

Its advertised as a sea facing room however, you cant really see the sea perfectly, as its blocked by buildings in the way a little. No matter the size of the room, they are all the same price. You have to book a time slot for your breakfast and tick what you want, which is a bit silly as you should be able to eat breakfast during an actual time frame instead of having to book a slot. There isnt really much choice, its the same standard English breakfast. The room was cold and just overall it wasnt the best stay.

The location was ideal for peace and quiet tucked away in a fold in the cliffs.

We had everything we needed but for an evening meal because of staffing shortages. That said the staff were prepared to cook snacks and laid on a pizza night for visitors and locals.

The room is really very nice and very clean. The personnel is very friendly and the owner is a very nice smiling Lady. The situation next to the beach in a quiet village is really amazing.

Super hotel, staff and time spent!

Everything! Rooms are really well appointed, clean and very comfortable. Location is great for a quiet getaway (theres the pub and a cafe and thats it!) but its in easy reach of plenty of places for day trips etc. Staff (especially manager Louise) were EXCEPTIONAL. Nothing was too much trouble and despite the restaurant being (temporarily) closed, due to staffing issues she made sure we were fed one way or another, in fact wed timed it well with a pizza weekend for the bank holiday which went down a treat. Not had a stay so enjoyable, entertaining and welcoming for a long time!

Place excellent need a chef and a Customer service session for the Manager

Breakfast was excellent prepared by a local lady. Rooms comfy and very clean although we elected not have housekeeping while we were there. The location is wonderful and for us a good base to visit the surrounding area. The cafe on the beach next door was superb for our evening meals.

The evening meal was poor. It became clear the next day the manager had fired the Chef in the middle of dinner which explained one or two things but not her very antagonistic manner to my wife. This made our stay quite uncomfortable especially as she effectively sent my wife to coventry and ignored her for the rest of the stay. There was a second incident in the Pub the next day as she Closed the place. It was a very surreal experience,fortunately we met a number of local folk in the Cafe next door and were made very welcome in Porthallows. It seems the Managers Behaviour is known to be a little erratic
