    My wife and I had a very pleasant overnight stay in the Globe Inn, and would recommend it.
    Breakfast excellent. Good choice of items for dinner. Beautiful, spotless bathroom, with large walk-in shower. Staff very friendly and efficient. Excellent service at mealtimes.
    The bedroom was small, but perfectly adequate for one night. However, there was no suitcase rest for unpacking. My case had to be placed on the bed. There was enough space for a folding suitcase rest.

    We have stayed before, and the revisit was anticipated with great pleasure.
    Breakfast was excellent. Location was ideal for us. The bar, log burner, and choice of beer and wine made for a lovely bar area to enjoy good food and wine.
    There was nothing that we would criticise.

    Brilliant stop over location between the North of Scotland and London
    Visited on a Sunday and had the best Sunday Lunch I've had in a very long time. The food was amazing, with everything expertly prepared with local produce. The 28 day salt aged rump roast was brilliant and the Cauliflower Cheese was made with local cheeses - excellent. Would highly recommend.
    Needed to get on the road and couldn't spend more time, but that is my poor planning.

    A hidden gem!
    We chose The Globe on the strength of having stayed in Calthwaite Lodges (next to the pub) a year ago. We ate in The Globe 4 times during that stay and knew the food and service was exceptional, so only needing a 1 night stay we chose to stay above the pub. The food and service on this occasion was 100% as exceptional as the last time. We loved the 'picky bits' we had for lunch, the wonderful evening meal and the amazing breakfast the next morning. The room was perfectly functional for a 1 night stay. It could do with a refresh but it was clean, comfortable and warm.
    Just a bit of a refresh in the room to brighten it up. My hubby slept really well but the bed was a little soft for me however everything else absolutely made up for that.
