Disappointing

The Gyle, Not Beguiling

The location was good for getting to St Pancras and several restaurants close by that we wanted to try. The exterior of the property was attractive.

We had made several simple requests, a quiet location, space and a bath, none of our requests were met. We booked a junior suite, room No.1, the 2 spaces were small and awkward for a couple and the 'walk through' bathroom to the bedroom was odd. The room was at street level and every person and vehicle could be heard. The bathroom was impossible, no towel or robe hanging near the shower area and a walk through toilet to get to the shower. A huge basin but no vanity space to lay toiletries out. The breakfast was limited and no toast available, the bread rolls we had were frozen in the middle. The staff were mainly friendly but the general atmosphere was not professional. The interiors looked cheap, not chic. Disappointing as we use the Eurostar and hoped for a hotel handy to the station for our regular travels.

Great place, amazingly dog friendly!

Amazing staff, lovely room, nice and quiet even with central location. Well set up room, really comfortable. Staff and location incredibly dog friendly and Brinkley loved his teddy dog and can if beer!

A perfect New Years Eve

Our stay at the Gyle was perfect. This boutique hotel is very new and cosy, the rooms are spacious with super comfortable beds; in the morning they serve you a very rich and good continental breakfast and you can always have free coffee. The hotel is very well located, close to King's cross tube station. Princy and Anush were very attentive and nice with us and since it was new year's eve they even gave us a little present. Thanks for everything guys and we will definitely be back soon. Happy New Year

Great if you like nightclub vibes (inc the vomit!)

The location was super handy for Kings Cross. The bed was comfy too.

It is very dark and has a seedy nightclub vibe. Fine if thats what youre after. Perhaps a good choice for a dirty weekend, dirty being the operative word! Walking into my room something smelt a bit off then I opened the door to the bathroom and a wave of vomit smell hit me. Quite shocking really considering this is not a cheap hotel, and even if it was that is still totally unacceptable. I informed the reception staff straight away and they said they would re-clean it while I was out. Was in a bit of a rush as they didnt give me the key until 3pm (checkin is advertised as from 2pm). Pleased to note when I returned the smell had gone but needless to say, the damage had been done. All the surfaces in the room are so dark its impossible to see if its clean or not. Not the luxury overnight trip I was hoping for!
