A very enjoyable stay!

Clean and spacious room, staff were very helpful, 10-15min walk to CBD and there is a direct bus (no. 29) right outside the hotel that goes to/from the airport.

Wonderful staff. Always pleasant and helpful. I would have graded this to less if it was not for the staff. Liked the modern bathroom. Great water pressure.

Zero facilities on site became an issue. Walking distances into town every day. No concierge to help with anything. Told to google when asked about a recommended local spa. No help with tips or tours. Just a tablet in the room. Onsite restaurant: Christmas day lunch was the same menu as every other day. Embarrassed inviting family to join. Could have added 1 main dish and even a Christmas pudding. Make an effort. Cabinet cake is hardly pudding. Mini bar items used not replaced. Kept asking. Bathroom floors not cleaned regularly. NOT a 5 star Very expensive for what you get. Chromecast on offer so u can watch your own movies etc. Problem is, not all apps allow this if you're not from New Zealand so had limited viewing options. WiFi weak. Booked and paid for a week...wished it was for only 2 days.

After registering at reception we walked into a room already occupied by a family. This was very embarrassing but thank goodness they werent naked or in a compromising position. Also we are grateful this didnt happen to us after we finally got given our room. An unacceptable 50 minute wait to get breakfast on Christmas Day. Also not enough sugar available for coffee - its not a restricted drug guys!!
