Beautiful resort! Location amazing and pool and offers awesome resort style feel. Awesome for a small family getaway, such a hidden little gem. Super run down. Needs a bit of money thrown into it. Rooms and facilities are old.

Room was dirty. Pretty run down. Clean bed. When we got there they left the aircon off and the walls were literally dripping wet. Aircon fixed it. Cupboards where dirty, needed a quick wipe down. However we weren't in a renovated room. Ocean front room, nice access to the grass area and good views of ocean. Big room.

Magnificent, would recommend dolphin heads resort to everyone staying in Mackay

The ocean view

The bars music selection & the level of the volume it was played at from the bar restaurant ! If I could hear it across the resort, Im sure your ears would be blasted while trying to eat a meal! Well above work place Helth & Safty decibels. Hence why we avoided the bar & restaurant during our stay. Was a pity as the meals looked amazing!

Very Disappointed

Didnt look anything like the pictures at all. Cant access the beach from the hotel unless you walk along big rocks which isnt easy with 2 little kids plus carrying everything you need for the beach. For a family room we were all crammed on top of each other.. in the pics of family rooms there was an outdoor sitting area near some grass that the kids could have played on but we didnt get a room remotely like that at all. Staying at a resort near a beach and with a pool there was no where to air out your wet clothes (sign saying not to put clothes outside on outdoor area and no where inside to air them out to dry?) The staff member seemed bothered everytime we needed to ask him something.

I liked the pool but my son's eyes burnt after 1 hour in the pool with out goggles. The food was amazing and the staff.

The outside area of my unit wasn't cleaned at all. Rubbish still under the table , hair from someones hair cut still in the corner , food stuck to the table outside on the surface, cigarette buts in the garden and didn't feel like the bathroom was cleaned so didn't use the shower once

Disappointing

All that glitters is not gold. Stay somewhere else.

The view was great and room was positioned as booked. The view out to the ocean was very nice.

I was starving. The restaurant/bar was rarely open and no options for even a vending machine. Had to keep going back to town for stuff. Would have been good to know that before I arrived on a Sunday night so that I was prepared. Great feed at the Eimeo Pub ! The wifi password they gave me didn't work. Once i finally found someone at reception the next day they said the one in my text message they sent me was old and they gave me the new one. I couldn't get that to work either so I gave up. Apparently it only works if you are in the bar area and standing on one leg. It doesn't work in the rooms. The cable channels promised on the website did not exist and receptionist had no clue what I was talking about. From their website: Double / Single Room - Ocean View A modern room at Dolphin Heads Resort Room is equipped with a flat-screen TV with cable channels. Every room has a private bathroom and Queen or twin sized beds. The air-conditioning hadn't been serviced so the internal overflow spilled a waterfall all over my bedside table (and the stuff I had on it). Came back to my room to a side lamp swimming and my stuff saturated. They did eventually fix this so I only had to suffer two waterfalls. For $160/night I was very disappointed.
