my worst experience on Booking.com

easy and clear instructions to self check-in

The description during booking didn't mention it was a hostel. There's no management in the hostel, only residents. The walls are very thin; our neighbor played loud music and sang all night. Despite requests to be quieter, she just laughed. Management didn't respond, so we left at 6 am instead of staying the booked 2 nights. The hostel refused to refund the second night due to living conditions. I don't recommend it, my worst experience on Booking.com.

My boyfriend and I had a really good time here! We may come back in the future!

The hotel is very unique. It looks more like a boutique hostel. Its very dark inside and gives retro vibes. It was very clean and had a coffee maker and some other stuff for the bathroom

The walls were thin and the bed not super comfortable but not a big deal

1920s Fever Dream

The Rosemary is a turn of the century modernist fever dream. A brothel? A speak-easy? A 1920s French gentlemans club? Its colourful and warm yet the portraits and sculptures have eyes that seem to watch. This is a good thing! The decor is truly an artistic curation that transports you to another time. I loved that the entry was self checkin but that there was a number to text for communication. All the amenities worked and the space was clean and well thought out. All the fixtures, hardware and architectural detail are very high end and well constructed. Someone took a lot of time to focus on form but obviously felt function was equally important. I parked on the side street a block away with no incident. I would definitely go back as its a smart, cheap way to stay in LA but its also an interesting experience. Loved every bit of it.

Exactly what we needed for our short stay in LA. We were able to get everywhere easily from this fun spot!

The Rosemary is such a cool spot. The space is really eclectic and exactly what you expect from the photos. If you love the photos youll love the vibe once you get there. The facilities were clean and we felt safe in the area! Very accessible to various spots in LA as well :)

The walls are VERY thin here. They do offer earplugs but even with earplugs in I could hear the folks talking in the room next to us clearly until 3AM one night and midnight another night. I did appreciate that they provide earplugs. It is somewhat difficult also with there being no one on site to ask guests to quiet down, etc.
