    Great just what we needed for visiting family in the area
    The room was nicely furnished and warm, the bathroom was spacious and clean. Plenty of hot water and wardrobe space
    The stairs to get up to the second floor perhaps could do with decorating and the back entrance had quit difficult stairs

    After booking with Booking.com we were informed that arrival was between 3 and 8. I left a message to say that we would be late as we were going to a pantomime in Yarm and received no response. I tried to ring the mobile number several times and eventually left a message, no response. I tried to ring the pub and the phone rang but then hung up. We therefore spent an extra hour travelling to get to the destination earlier to check in and then drive back to Yarm to the pantomime. Room large and airy. Central heating not working but an electric heater was provided and the room was warm on arrival. Bed comfortable and we slept well but duvet and pillows could do with replacing.

    Adequate for a 1 night stay but overpriced for what you got.
    Good shower.
    Cold, no heating on. Plaster peeling off walls and dodgy wiring for the kettle.

    The room was big and had far potential than it had, could be 4 star with some care. Bathroom was lovely and spacious. Good hot water.
    Jacuzzi didn't work, outside walls damp, no sugar for coffee and kettle had to be plugged into other socket because the one it was plugged into wasn't working.

    Friendly staff. Large room. Plenty of hot water and heating.
    Pub smells damp. Descent from top floor via fire exit at the back is not ideal. No staff there at night. Furniture in bedroom is awful, including small squishy mattress. Bath has jets but they dont work. All needs a major overhaul and rather expensive for what you get.

    Adequate for the purpose I was staying there.
    Location was excellent next to Saltburn train station. Bed and bathroom were very good.
    Had trouble contacting in advance to see if I could check in early (or at least leave my bags). I was at a wedding and couldn't check in at 3pm. Took a couple of calls to get through. The hotel was above a pub and didn't appear to have any staff working there after the pub had closed (or I couldn't see any at least). Night entrance/exit was the fire exit which wasn't locked at all, I only had to push the door open to get access to the building, despite coming back from the wedding at 11pm at night. Also, the WIFI didn't work at all, and there was nobody around to ask.
