In the end we received an upgrade to our booked room and stayed in a garden villa. This was a very nice room type. Michelle, the manager, was very ambitious to make our stay a good experience.
Our initially booked room type was not a great experience. The view was obstructed (looking at the very near roof of the next building), making the room very dark. On the head board of the bed we found blood stains. Hopefully only from mosquitoes. After mentioning the situation to the front office, we weren't offered any solution or outlook and only were asked to come back 1-2 days later due to the manager being out of office. There were a few other things that don't match (the very central European) price rate the hotel is asking for.

Magical- would love to go back.
Amazing place- we had a beach villa- sunsets from the room. The pool was delightful- the beach in front of our window-some meals and drinks at the bar- friendly staff- cannot recommend this place enough!!!

We stayed at one of the Villas with seaview. It was awesome! After been to 4 different resorts at Koh Lanta, Twin Lotus was by far the most luxurious and nice resort.
Positives:
The villa! The intereur, the bed, the bathroom, the terrasse and the view. Everything was absolutely fantastic.
Just a few minor things - not really worth mentioning.
One thing I would like to say though is how annoying it is to see when guests reserve the beachchairs - I watched a couple leaving their towels on the chairs overnight (4 nights in a row), so they were sure to get the chairs the next morning. Thats just greedy - especially because this particular couple stayed in a beachfront villa.

Recommend hotel at Lanta Yai. Long Beach & lovely sunset view.
4 stars for local standard resort in Thailand which connects to the long beach with stunning sunset spot. Highlights are the swimming pool closed to the beach, large room and convenience to Phi Phi & Koh Haa.
The service for example golf cart, staffs may not as fast as international chain hotel. Breakfast is decent with choices of Thai & American breakfast.

Perfect location and accommodation.
This hotel was well located about 5 mins taxi ride from the pier. It is a beautiful location with luxurious bungalows and rooms that sit amongst amazing gardens and jungle-like environment. we loved the peace and quiet of the whole resort. The big feature for us was our terrace where you could luxuriate in the evenings (if you werent able to watch the amazing sunsets on the beach). The hotel rooms were also very well equipped, serviced and the bathrooms were amazing. You can easily walk along the beachfront to other bars and restaurants to get a taste of the local food and offerings. All the staff were welcoming, polite, helpful and accommodating our every need. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice for Asian, international and European foods on offer.
